The Barnes family opened the doors to The Vinyl Window Company in 1996. In the beginning it was young brothers Scott and Tom who under the tutalge of of their father Tom Sr. learned quickly the time-tested adage of business: Go to any lenghth to ensure the customer is satisfied and the project is done right.

With that always in mind we forged ahead as a family learning all we could about the vinyl window replacement business. For a number of years we manufactured our own line of windows and doors, giving us an in-depth education into how vinyl windows work and what 's needed to ensure they perform their best. All the while we learned the installation side of the business under the guidance of our expert installation manager who is still with us after 14 years.

As time changed we changed right along with it. To adapt to the changing landscape of the home renovation market in Victoria we phased out our manufacturing operations and partnered with Jeld-Wen Windows and Doors Canada. This partnership provided our customers with the best of both worlds: The comfort of knowing their dealing with a local, family-operated company and the confidence their new windows and doors were being manufactured by one of the world's leaders in the window industry. In addition we rounded out our product line with the inclusion of Innotch Window and Doors, regarded as the industry leader in German tilt-and- turn door technology.

And one of the most exciting changes has been the addition of our sister Deanna to the Vinyl Window Company team, coming on board three-years ago to oversee the daily operations of the front office. The role left for Deanna to fill was a large one as she stepped in following the retirement of our mother Donna who did nearly everything within the company that didn't involve holding a skill saw
